Okay, I’ll admit it: one of my greatest joys in life is seeing people doing something they love and using their talents. While hanging out online the other day, I stumbled across this amazing video created by some truly talented teens from Cypress Ranch High School in Cypress, TX. The high-energy pop song was written and sung by 15-year old KaitlynK and high-school senior Preston Cox filmed and edited the production. Over 1,000 students appear in the 5-minute LipDub (lip-syncing with audio dubbed) video with a strong Bullying Prevention message. I loved the message, the energy, and the variety of students participating. Amazing!

A Puppy Made of Flowers

"Puppy" by artist Jeff Koons

I’ve always admired public art and American artist Jeff Koons’ “Puppy” is one of my favorites.

The “Puppy” topiary sculpture is a steel structure covered in beautiful flowers. Modeled after a West Highland White Terrier, the statue is 43 feet tall and includes an internal irrigation system.

After traveling the world (Germany, Australia and New York), the “Puppy” is now a popular tourist attraction in front of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, in Bilbao, Spain.

Jeff Koons has created hundreds of art pieces including giant brightly colored balloon animal sculptures. Here’s an interesting tidbit: the movie Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian included Koon’s “Balloon Dog (Red)” sculpture as one of the pieces that came to life.

3D Butterfly Pavement Art by Julian Beever

I recently came across some amazing photos of art created by English artist Julian Beever.

The butterfly above was drawn on a sidewalk in Mexico City. The artist draws anamorphic illusions “in a special distortion in order to create an impression of 3 dimensions when seen from one particular viewpoint.” See more of Julian’s stunning work at his website.
